Hi, I'm Elena
Project manager. Parent. An expat living in Rome, Italy.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter in life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn’t part of our long-range plan. As with many international transfers, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday chores felt more complex than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Built JavtormeliSun
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Practical knowledge gained from living in Italy
- Focused on family life and daily realities
- Updated when a meaningful change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- A tourism authority resource
- Sponsored review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Italy continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Best regards,
Elena
